About the OOB Festival Judges

The OOB Festival is Judged by 6 panels, featuring one professional playwright, one major literary agent, and one Industry Professional of a nationally recognized theatre company. With a total of eighteen judges from some of the nation’s most influential theatrical institutions, Festival participants have the opportunity to make invaluable industry connections and gain lasting notoriety. Many participants have begun career-defining relationships or even been picked up by agents during previous Festival Weeks.

On each night of the Festival, a judging panel of three esteemed theater professionals will watch performance 6 to 7 Final Forty scripts, deliberate among themselves, and send 1 to 2 plays onto the Festival Finals. Finals take place the last day of the Festival, during which the Samuel French, Inc. Editorial Staff will watch 12 to 14 plays and select 6 authors to be published in our OFF OFF BROADWAY FESTIVAL PLAYS series.
